My question is that if I have a 3rd party firewall such as
Norton Internet security, should I have the win xp pro
firewall enabled for possible more added security or will
this create a loophole?

I'd disable XP's firewall. A good 3rd part firewall, properly
configured, does everything that it does and more. There's no benefit
to running both, and it could cause problems.
