I cannot connect to the internet. This happened suddenly
Friday night. In my system tray I get a message "The Local
Area Network Cable is unplugged. So far I have tried a new
network card, ethernet cable, new modem, wiggled all the
plugs, etc. Still the same message. When I open the
network card properties and the modem properties, it says
they are working correctly. I have worked with my DSL ISP
on the phone, but so far have not found the problem. I am
trying to avoid a tech visit, but that seems my only
option tomorrow. Any ideas? Thanks. Jane

In device manager, try setting your network cards media type to 10M, half
duplex.
