Open quicktime from control panel
There is a pull down menu for all options
choose File Type Associations and uncheck what you don't
want QT to open. most likely that's everything except
Macintosh file types. That should take care of it.
You can explore some of the other options, such as
Browser Plug-in, uncheck everything, and MIME settings,
disabling whichever you want MS to handle,
