Microsoft is removing Microsoft Virtual Machine from its websites and
stopping distribution because of a court order:
http://www.microsoft.com/java/
You can download Sun Java here:
http://java.sun.com/getjava/

Walt;
If you do not need Java, there is no reason to install it.

Java is a platform. Programs that are written in Java use this platform to
run. If you don't have any programs that use Java (and don't visit any web
sites that use Java applets) then the platform will just sit there doing
absolutely nothing. It's kind of like a record player - not too useful on
its own, but as soon as you start buying records, you're glad you have one.
If everything you own is on tape or CD, however, then you just have another
piece of equipment sitting there doing nothing.

Walt;
Yes.
If you go to a site that needs Java, you will get a message often
sending the person to Microsoft.
However Microsoft does not currently have Java, which is one reason to
go to Sun for Java.

right one, how can i determine which program i need in
