View Full Version : Changing my internet provider to another: what I need to do

I am changing my ISP from Earthlink to Yahoo in a few
days. What do I need to do to my computor to be sure
that none of the problems I have with Earthlink are
carried over to (infect) Yahoo. Like how to un-install
Earthlink?
This is a new PC; however, clicking on the window Icon
does not work-I begin from "start" and have to double
click on "Many" times, I loose my connection if I use/try
to use Email, Web mail, or express mail form Earthlink
and now I can't print anything while in the Earthlink
site, or Send, Reply, or print in Draft. This has been
going on since March and they have not resolved the
problem to date! That is why I do not want anythin from
that site to carry over. This does't happen in Yahoo or
MSN and I have ran a Virus check and my PC is clean.
Thanx, Annette

You could start by posting in a more relevant newsgroup. It also sounds like
you are blaming someone else for your own inexperience with computer
software. I don't think your problems are going to go away when you switch
Internet providers.

What did you just do? You put your foot in your own mouth. I offered my
honest opinion that she should not change ISPs. Just because you don't like
the advice does not mean it is not useful to somebody. Practice what you
preach.......BTW, if you use OE learn how to use your ignore option. I just
did it on you and it works great.

thank you for your 'useful' advice, which was what
exactly? if Annette does not change her ISP how should
she solve her problems exactly? and if the problems are
due to her own inexperience you really havent helped by
just telling her not to change her ISP, what else should
she do in your 'professional opinion'. By ignoring any
kind of problem will not make it go away, so i suggest
you learn when to use your 'ignore option'
