Looking at a folder content one can change the views:
Filmstrip, Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons etc.
Can I "tell" windows (XP) to remember the setting
from one session to the other?
(I would like to have different setting in different folders)
Please advise,

I set up a folder the way that I want *most* of my folders to display. I
use the Apply to All which works on any folder not already customized. Then
I check "Remember settings for each folder." That setting lets me alter view
preferences on a folder by folder basis that will be remembered until I
change it again.
After setting folders up that way, you should be able to customize a folder
as an image folder. Set Filmstrips, thumbnails or whatever view you like and
have it stick until you change it.
You do run into a bit of a problem where Windows only remembers settings for
so many folders unless you edit the registry. MVP Kelly Theirot describes
the steps on her site. Go to: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_f.htm and
scroll down to "Folder Views - Keep Settings (Pete)"
