I'm not sure if your hear just to slam windowsxp or if
your voiceing you real dislike for it.
It truely is better than win95 cause that was worse than
win 3.1. Winxp is based on NT and moved away from the
win95/98. Pop-ups? If your talking about the grey box
ones where it has test and only an OK button to make it go
away, then you need to do some searching on how to disable
the messenger (this is not the chat software called
messenger), cause it is designed to be used on a network
at a company and windowsxp had this turn on be default and
people found out how to exploit it.
The freezing can only be fixed by maintaining your pc.
Getting the most update drivers and such. The slowness
might be related to the hotfix811493 bug which you can
check in the add/remove programs and see if its there. If
it is then just remove it and that shouuld speed the pc
back up big time.
Just trust me, I been running windowsxp for a while now
and I think its better than all the others. I hope this
helps you somewhat.
