Network/Samba help needed

I have a desktop client running WinXP Home, and want to
connect it to my Linux box (Samba server) but I keep
getting access denied type errors when I try to map
network drives.

What am I missing here?

Did you create a samba user on the linux box? Did you configure smb.conf
and share anything? Did you restart samba after creating the user and
config file?
