audio controller (Sorry - real computer illiterate!)

I've just had my HDD formatted and XP reinstalled. however in device manager
I have a query against "Other Devices" /multimedia audio controller and
video controller (VGA Compatible). And if I try to play music I get Audio
controller not found. I don't even know what these are - possibly something
to do with firewire video connection? Or sound card. Any ideas and any ideas
where I can find the drivers? Or how I can check if sound card is installed
and working?

Try going to Windowsupdate
site Djay. Usually that'll pick up a sound
driver, 9 times out of 10. Select it then
install it. Voila, you should have sound!
