window will not close

My windows xp prof. stops responding, window will not
close, and is slowing down. Will someone please help me.
I've been trying for two weeks. No response yet!!!

Not enough info to be very helpful, but the first thing I would try is
running your antivirus suite. If you don't have antivirus software, get
it!! Also clean out your temp internet files and cookies, and defragment
your hard drive. Try these first and repost if problems presist.
