I bought xp home for my pc. A month later I upgraded my
motherboard and proccesor. My system would not boot to xp,
so I installed my old copy of 98. I want to get xp back, I
have all my documents and stuff but will it think It is a
different computer when I re-activate it online?

The worse thing that will happen is that you will have to do a phone
activation. Its free, takes about 5 minutes, no problem.
