We have a network that has a twelve port gigabit switch
with eight gigabit users. There is a brand new Dell
server with SBS 2000. The gigabit users all have new or
relatively new computers running XP Proffesional. They
intermittently get "Delayed Write Failed" when working on
files on the server, or their mapped drives
report "connection lost." We have replaced numerous
network cards, and completely rewired the network with
CAT6 cabling, jacks, and a CAT6 patch panel. These
issues happen seemingly randomly regardless of whether
the user is using a database or not. I have checked the
relevant Knowledge base articles, and have followed the
instructions for the UDMA hard drive and the network
permissions articles. None of this seems to have any
effect. any ideas?
