View Full Version : Unable to access some sites such as this one, Hotmail...

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction
here. We have a small network of just 3 PC's. One (mine)
runs XP Pro and the other 2 W2000 Pro. Only one of the 3
PC's (a win2k PC) is able to successfully access things
such as a hotmail mail account, this site, a particular
sites search facilities (e.g. www.fnaim.fr - I'm in
France) or ftp via DreamWeaver to our US host. Both other
machines simply time out which is awkward to say the least.

This only started happening after we moved to broadband
access. No doubt there must be a setting somewhere but I
have no idea where....

Any ideas?

Richard

Try setting the IE internet options to automatically detect settings. You
can get there from the Tools menu -> Internet Options -> Connections tab ->
LAN settings button.

Also, verify that the computers have valid ip addresses.
