I am trying to uninstall XP and load another OS. I have
tried inserting the disk and then turning the computer on,
I have tried to use the add/remove, and I have tried
accessing the OS disc from Windows explorer. Any
suggestions? Feel free to E-mail me.

Hi Ed,

You wouldn't uninstall, you will need to format (and quite possibly
repartition) in preparation for the new OS. How you proceed depends upon
what OS you are going to install - Win2K, Win9x, Linux?

Are you sure you are ready to install another OS? I don't know of any OS
easier than Windows XP to use, and if you can't figure out how to find the
basic information to switch to a new OS, I would say you are setting
yourself up for some big trouble. It is also a good idea to supply detailed
information on what you are trying to do when posting for help. What OS are
you trying to change to? This is also a peer support newsgroup and taking
the replies to email completely defeats the spirit of peer group support.
If you are head strong about wiping out XP and installing something else,
copy and paste the link below into your web browser address bar. It covers
all aspects of formatting a system with XP installed.
