connection refused

I am connected via a high speed cable modem. After I log
on, a message repeatedly appears over the desktop
indicating my computer is attempting to connect to
something. The message boxes keep appearing, cascading
one over the other, and take forever to close only to
have the whole mess start all over again. The top of the
message reads: APP_VERO_22743 Beneath, it states
connection refused (Error #10061). How do I stop this???
