Bruce, you completely misread my post. Nowhere did I say MS "developed" the
drivers. How in the world did you go from "built in" to "developed"? And I
assure you the drivers are on my XP cd, which means MS did provide them to
me because they are built in. Nowhere did I say MS made or created the
drivers. Nowhere did I say the drivers were not provided to MS by some other
company. How did you make that stretch?

The whole point of my post was to question how every company could be
expected to make hundreds of changes to accommodate MS and its new OS?
Reread my original line, "Is it really the fault of HP because it did not
include everything to be compatible with XP. . ."

You subverted my post to where the non-MS companies abandoned their
customers just to save money. Just how much money should a company be
expected to spend so that its software can be compatibile with virtually the
only OS in the stores? HP did not really abandon it customers. There is no
telling how much money it has spent just to make sure its previous customers
could be compatible with XP. The HP customers did not really pay for that
service, did they? They more than likely expected MS to make sure their
current devices would work with the new OS.

Let's put another spin on your statement: Maybe Microsoft changed its OS
just to make money. I prefer that declarative rather than saying HP
abandoned its customers to save money.
