The Reverend XP

This is a known issue with XP and if you go into your help
and support center under the start button you will find
articles on the solution. Basically you need to remove a
key in the registry. Backup first. go>start\run and type
in regedit and then navigate to the end of this route by
clicking the + sign beside each entry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersio
n\Explorer\VolumeCaches Now right click VolumeCaches and
then click export and then in the box that appears click
the drop down list arrow to the right of the top line and
choose desktop and then in the "file name" line down the
bottom type in Volume Caches then click save. This will
save the original setup in case of any problems. Now click
the + sign beside VolumCaches and right click the
CompressOldFiles and then click delete and close out of
here. Now try the disk cleanup utility. If all goes well
then right click the folder you created on your desk top
and click delete. Good luck.
