Problem in erasing the CD-RW

Problem in erasing the CD-RW . .
I am having WINXP Proffesional, ,MSI CD-RW MS8348.
Pentium 2.
350 mhz.
128 mb ram
using this i can able to write files into RW CD's but if
I erase the CD, it display's " sucessfully erased", but
within 1 minutes, again restoring the erased content..pl
help me. how to erase permanently

but with my new sony computer i can able to do the above
on same disk .WINXP working fine

i'd like to know how old is the cd writer is...because after about two to
three years, cd writers would be on its way to be replaced.
