Rob is there a chance the computer actting as the print
sever is going in standby or Hibernating?

No someone is working on the pc, hibernation and power saving options have
been disabled .
If it helps the problems seem to have started since the hot fixes where
installed.
Although I am abit reluctant to remove them.
