thanks Dan. I've tried using REN command. It says it's
correctly renamed. But inside WindowsXP, the file name
remains unchanged.
Is there any other way? or can we change the name in
windowsXP?

Learning the new windows xperience myself. The only other suggestion I have
is to reboot into safe mode. There should be nothing else running and you
should be able to rename the file.

Try holding the F8 key when your computer starts (before windows begins to
load), usually at the manufacturers introductory screen.

Failing that, go to Start>Run type msconfig. Choose the option "diagnostic
startup" and reboot. I think this is the same as booting into safe mode.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
