Seen same thing on 2 different networks. I even posted a
message here 12/9 asking for answers, but got none. I
was hoping someone from Microsoft would answer. It seems
to happen on XP computers with NTFS, and NOT with FAT32!
On the one network, I upgraded to MS Office 2003 (from
Office XP) and the delay went from about 45-60 seconds,
down to about 10 seconds, which can be lived with.
Within next week or two, I will do this on the second
network and see if that improves it (they are using
Office 2000 now).
