I just installed XP Pro (with SP1) and Norton SW 2003. Now
everyting I reboot I get an open folder on my desktop
(Program Files). Does anyone know how to change this so
that I just get my desktop with no open folders?

Thanks
CM

Check your startup folder for a folder shortcuts (START\PROGRAMS\STARTUP)

try running your computer in safe mode. If it doesn't happen in safe mode,
then you have some process of a program that loads the folder ......other
than that, I have no other ideas .....unless you have customer support for
your computer, then contact them

I use a program called system mechanic. One of the things it does is show
all the programs that start when your computer does.(or most). Many are not
listed in that start menu startup folder. I think there is a thirty day
free trial. Sorry I don't know the link.
I find many programs add a little something that starts when a person
starts there computer. Actually I don't know how people who don't use a
program like this get by.
Of course I play a lot of demo's and such.

Anyway, good luck.
