I am having a similar problem with 2 WXPProSP1 pc´s.
One is up and running nice, with working Internet.
The other is a laptop with a Belkin NIC.(PCcard)
I have a firewal but it is disabled.
PC1 Host:
ICS, No firewall. DHCP. No bridges. Internet conn works. Two NIC, one for
LAN and one for Internet ADSL. ICS on Internet ADSL NIC Conn. No firewall on
any conn. ICS assigns 192.168.0.1 on PC1.
Cable between puters is crossed (red) directly connected with no hub or
anything.
Laptop.
Network set up using guide and floppy from PC1. First it did not worked,
then it worked, then after making no changes, the net died. I am stuck now.
cant ping. Unable to renew. Ipconfig sees an IP ok but I cant ping that IP
from PC1. Timeout.
I have tried just about anything but for assigning static IP:s to both.
I am employed as a network admin, but that was before XP : /
Thanks for any advice. I´ll be happy to fill in if needed.
