I haven't had to deal with win98 for a long time,
however, IF i'm not mistaken, be sure in your network
settings under the file and printer sharing, make sure
that the printer sharing is enabled. Then if you open
the folder with the printer(s), Right click on the one
you want, you should see a "sharing" option on the
dropdown bar. If not, goto properites, and there should
be a sharing tab. Then from the laptop, browse to you 98
machine, and double click on that printer, it will most
likely ask you if you would "like to connect to it", yes
of course however you may need to provie XP drivers for
the printer.
