I just upgraded from XP Home to XP Pro. I had an
extensive listeing of programs under Start/All Programs.
Many of these (including Office XP) have been wiped off
of the Start menu (the programs are still there and still
work).

Any idea how I can add these back, or have the system
find programs to add back to the Start/All Programs menu?

I can't find my Office XP icons - any idea where they
might be?

This may sound odd to you, but I recommend backing up your startup folder's
directory structure on a regular basis. I like mine set up with seperate
folders for graphics, productivity, internet, games, other, start up, and
accessories. You can then restore the directory structure and place the
icons back in their respective places without all of the hassle.

That aside, you can create new shortcuts to the programs either by
reinstalling your office software (it takes 5 minutes) or you can find the
programs and create shortcuts and then place them in your start menu (5 or
10 ninutes).
