Margy,

Try not to do anything that isn't absolutely necessary
until after you attempt to recover the files. There is a
danger that you will overwrite those files and loose them.
Go to "Kelly's XP Korner" at http://www.kellys-korner-
xp.com/xp_abc.htm and under "XP A to Z" theres an
entry "Recycle Bin". Within it you'll find "To Recover
Files in NTFS".
