OLD SARG

I recently got Windows XP. I often copy an email then paste it into
Microsoft Word to clean it up, but I can't since I switched to XP. Any
suggestions? Hardy

actually, you can still do that...copying and pasting all throughout most of
the windows applications are pretty much the same since then and hasn't
changed much.

I do the same procedure that I did with Windows 98, but it will not paste.
???
The paste line isn't highlighted.

Highlight the message, hit ctrl+c for copy, open word and hit ctrl+v for
paste, works all day long for me.

I know how it is supposed to be done. I've been doing that for years. The
problem here is, "it doesn't work."

It sounds like the copy function isn't working if your paste option is
greyed out..

Try seeing if clipboard viewer is installed. Go to start then run and type
clipbrd then click OK

If it is not you can install it in Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, add
windows components on the left, choose accessories, click details (in the
subsequent box too) check the box next to clipboard viewer. OK out and
follow the instructions.

Open clipboard viewer to see if you did in fact copy anything.

I'm no expert, but if not, the problem is likely with the windows shell. A
clean install may clear it up -- there may be another method that I don't
know about.

I had this same problem while back. After I installed the SP1 update,
everything worked just as it was supposed to.
