Following directions in another post, I successfully
solved a similar problem (after 2.5 years of
frustration):
1. start > run "net stop spooler"
2. then use wizard to "set up home or small office
network":
3. start > run "net start spooler"
ADDITIONALLY, in order to network a XP Home PC to a XP Pro
PC, for unknown reasons, I ALSO had to configure LMHOSTS
and NETBIOS on BOTH PCs:
1. double click "my network places"
2. click "view network connections"
3. right click "local area connection"
4. click "properties"
5. click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
6. click "properties"
7. click "advanced"
8. click "WINS" tab
9. checkoff little boxes that:
-"enable LMHOSTS lookup"
-"Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP"
