Dialup Connection

Hi,
I have a dialup connection, once I got connected, I
wasn't able to browse anything (I'm using winxp and IE
6). I've tried pinging some IP addresses but none of
them work, I've tried going to all the websites that I
can think of and all of them gave me a message saying
they cannot find the website and I'm sure I'm connected
to the internet because when I put my cursor on the
connection icon on my taskbar it tells me the speed that
I'm connected at. I've checked all my settings and I
just cannot find what's going on. Can someone help me
please?
