It is pretty straight forward to do this but depending on how your setup to
use the internet you may have to adjust your plans.

It is recommended you leverage an external DNS authority which will handle
your actual DNS records, i would suggest
zoneedit.com. You register your domain with them (e.g. burntskull.com) and
then simply add host names (e.g. www, mailserver, foo) which will be stored
in the burntskull name space.

If you get dynamic IPs from your ISP, then you would need to leverage a
Dynamic DNS authority which would map your dynamic IP to a fully qualified
domain name. There are plenty of freebies out there for that, I am not sure
if zoneedit supports DDNS zones.

After getting your self published on the net, you simply need to make sure
your webservers are running at your home. Preferably behind a router which
is using NAT to map public ip addresses to private ones. This will give you
a significant amount of security over letting your server sitting
unprotected on the Internet.

You should run virus scanning software on your webserver and ensure you
follow the IIS security guidelines (included with IIS) to ensure you setup
and secure your websites properly.

After that you are on your own to create your site.
