my computer came with windows XP home edition
installed, I recently found out that XP supposedly comes
with a backup utility built-in, when I tried to find it
and failed, I checked the XP knowledge base and discovered
that the utility has to be started manually using an XP
installation disk, unfortunately my computer didn't come
with an installation disk, but, a restore disk, does this
mean I'm S.O.L., or is there another way to axctivate the
utility?

Steve;
Search the computer and restore CD for "ntbackup".
Many computer manufacturers choose not to include NTBACKUP.
If you need a back-up application, you need a 3rd party application.
NTBACKUP has limitations such as inability to back-up directly to CD
that make it unacceptable to many users in any case.
