Thanks for everyones help, but still can't get into
windows, machine just keeps cycling from start up, red
flash dark screen goes into the " sorry for the
inconvenience" etc and select a mode( Safe, normal, etc)
tried all of them and it still recycles. Can't even start
the repair installation process which was offered to try.
I am at the point of reinstalling XP from scratch but
can't get the CD to fire up. I really need step by step to
which buttons to push because i must be doing something
wrong following everyones help. Just a note, i see other
folks have the same problems along with the same replies
that i have received from the group. A step by step
process would really help for us beginners with limited
knowledge to correct the problem which was caused by a
Microsoft patch that i installed. Yep it was M/S so called
fix that shut down my machine. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks Zak

See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Tips, How to Do a Repair Installation. If your
computer won't boot from the CD drive, check your computer's manual for
instructions on accessing the BIOS and enabling this option.

And if his computer uses F1 or F2 or some other key to access the BIOS?
