Unable to use XP pro cause I can't see anything

I resently purchased xp pro and Installed on to my
computer.
Basicly, the moniter doesn't Display anything after the
inital startup, just after the 'XP is Loading' Screen it
just displays a blank screen. Why is this?

Secondly why Doesn't XP override a previous OS in my case
windows ME.

i am not sure why there is a blank screen

but for your second question, during the xp setup process you are presented
these options: to upgrade (which over writes your previous os) and to
install windows (using dual boot which installs xp and retains your old os)
or to install windows on a new drive (which erases your hard drive and
installs xp).
