View Full Version : Can anyone help me?

So far I've contacted Microsoft twice and not gotten any
answers. I am going to try again. Even if you can't help
me, please, at least, let me know. I use to have Windows
98 and Incredimail. Everything worked fine. I was happy.
Now I have Windows XP and Incredimail no longer works. I
had to get rid of it because I couldn't send any email
with backgrounds or pictures. :( I contacted Incredimail
and they said their settings were correct. I shouldn't
have a problem. I contacted my ISP and they said the same
thing. They said to contact Microsoft. So, here I am. I am
now using Outlook Express and I still can't send some
backgrounds(that come with Express) or pictures. I know
it's not a big thing, but I liked using Incredimail for my
email. Can anyone out there help me? Please let me know
either way! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Did you try a fresh install of the latest version of Incredimail? I know it
works on XP 'cause I tried it once... Then realised the damn thing is FULL
of spyware so got rid of it immediately :)

Yes, I did. In fact, I deleted the program and re-
installed it a couple of times, and it still doesn't work.
Maybe I'm just not meant to have it. It was fun while it
lasted! Thanks for your help! Be blessed! ';'

What error messages are you getting when you try to load it?

I don't get any error message. It installs just fine. It
just that when I go to send and email using some of the
backgrounds or animations, it won't send. BTW, what are
spywares? Duh!

Hi Myrtle,

Try the following, to send pictures with your message in Outlook Express:

When you click Reply or Forward to someone,
Write your message, and then,

click Format, at the top,
click Rich text,
click Insert,
click Picture,
type location of the picture.

Then Send,

Good Luck,
Jerry

Myrtle,

Do you realize you can make your own neat stationery in Outlook Express?
Everyone I send to ohs and ahs over mine and it's really very simple to do.
I think people just haven't explored all that Outlook Express can do.
Here's how you do it:

Click onto the little downward pointing arrow beside create mail. Move down
to "select stationery" and click. The select stationery box pops up. Go to
the lower right corner and click "Create New...." A create stationery
wizard pops up and you're on your way. Just play with it! Have fun!

Hi S.N.! Yes, I've created my own emails in OE. I have the
same problem with that as I've had with Incredimail.
Whenever I put in a picture, it won't send. I should say,
the majority of the time, it won't sent. And, I checked
the size of the picture and it wasn't too big. BTW, where
do you get the pictures from to make your own mail? I've
saved pictures from what people send me and use them. Some
are animated, but they just don't seem to work. The only
thing I can usually send is just a background. Whatcha
think!

Spyware is Internet jargon for Advertising Supported software (Adware). It
is a way for shareware authors to make money from a product, other than by
selling it to the users.

Hi Jerry! Yes, I've done that, but with no luck. It's
really weird. Some things send and some don't. The sizes
seem to be okay, so I don't know what the problem is. But,
thanks for your help and your time. Have a good one!

Spyware
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Spyware is computer software that aids in gathering information about a
person or organization without their knowledge. The most common use of
spyware is to gather information about the user and relay it to advertisers
or other interested parties, but it has been used by law enforcement to
collect evidence against criminal suspects.

Spyware can be installed on a computer by a virus, by an e-mail trojan such
as the United States FBI's Magic Lantern program, or it may be hidden within
the otherwise-innocuous installation a new program. Data collecting programs
installed with the user's knowledge are not, properly speaking, spyware, if
the user fully understands what data is being collected and with whom it is
being shared.

The HTTP cookie is a well-known mechanism for storing information about an
Internet user on their own computer, often used to assign webite visitors an
individual identification number for subsequent recognition. However, the
existence of cookies and their use is generally not concealed from users,
who can also disallow access to cookie information. Nevertheless, to the
extent that a Web site uses a cookie identifier to build a profile about the
user, who does not know what information is added to this profile, the
cookie mechanism could be considered a form of spyware. For example, a
search engine website could assign a user an individual ID the first time he
visits and store all search terms in a database with this ID as a key on all
subsequent visits (until the cookie expires or is deleted). This data could
be used to select advertiserments to display to that user, or could (legally
or illegally) be transmitted to third parties.
