are you talking about in the start menu or in the system tray (notification
area)? if you mean the most recently used programs list in the start menu,
then simply right-click the program and select 'remove from the list'.
however, if you are talking about in the notification area, then the problem
is a bit more complex. icons in the notification area mostly represent tsr's
that are running on your machine -e.g. antivirus software. so, if you want
to remove them you must go into the program options of each specific program
and choose an option like "disable tray icon" or "do not start with
windows".

Hi Carly,
If you're low in memory or low PC Resource and want to boost up your slow PC.
This is a good thrifty way to do. Otherwise don't do anything.
1. Click Start / Run Note: ( / ) mean; Then, choose . . .
2. In the Open field, type-in MSConfig / OK
3. Select Startup Tab and uncheck (ONLY) your selected program to be deleted and
I caution you if you deleted ALL, you'll find later that your Browser and others
programs are not working or missing. Better write down which one you've deleted
and you can undo later if necessary.
4. Always remember to press Apply and OK to exit.
5. Your PC will go to reboot, choose Yes to take effect upon boot up.
Hope this helps,
Rino
