dedvice sharing

have set up lan using ethernet cards etc,working fine,
{just two P.C.'s},printer sharing set up okay,how do you
share a scanner over a network or a web cam if you can
share a printer.

Help appreciated.

Unless the scanner came with software to support sharing, you don't.
WinWhatever does not contain scanner sharing code.

Same for the web cam, I suspect.

I have heard of "port forwarding" do you know
of this or if this would work??

Sharing a scanner over the network is not practical since you must be at
the scanner to operate it. What you should do is scan the document into a
shared folder on the computer to which the scanner is connected. Then share
that folder and access the scanned document from any networked computer.
