Hints & Tips in XP

Just set up XP Pro a few days ago and everytime I do something I get all
these dialog boxs from various sources and pop ups coming from the task bar
that can get really annoying. Is there a way I can limit or stop these
without having to check the "do not show" box all the time? TIA.

Do this:

Run regedit and navigate to...

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]

Create a new DWord entry and name it EnableBalloonTips. Reboot.

"EnableBalloonTips"=dword:00000000

Hi Mark,

Get TweakUI for XP

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Install it than click on Taskbar and uncheck " Enable Ballon Tips.
