If you mean using the Backup utility, you don't. It isn't designed to be
used with CDs. You can, however, drag and drop files to a blank disc using
the built in burning utility.

well, first you need a cd writer or cd burner to do that.
most of the time, when you get a cd burner, it comes with a software that
will burn specific files to a cd.
if you want to use win xp's built in burner, it's simple too...just drag the
folders and files you want to the cd burner icon when you open windows
explorer. after you have done that, right click on your cd burner icon and
click write these files to cd...and the files will be written.
simple eh?
hope this answers you question.
best regards,

If you have a CDRW drive and 3rd party UDF packet writing software like =
INCD from Nero
you can do this by formatting the CRW first and then XP will treat it =
like any other HD but of course it will still have a size limitation. If =
you just have a CDR you would back up to the HD and then copy/move that =
file to the CDR.
