Cyclic redundancy

I am trying to open a video file I shot with my camera. I
placed it onto a cd years ago. It is an mpeg file. When I
try to open it I get an error that says Data Error Cyclic
Redundancy Check. Does anyone know what this means or how
to fix it?

Try opening the file on a computer that doesn't have Windows XP.
