Thanks for the inputs. I am sure the drives are NTFS.
After some further tinkering, I have discovered that the
problem only occurs when I am capturing analog 8MM tape
through my Sony TVR-22 DV Camera. When I don't have the
8MM camera hooked up and I just capture directly from the
DV tape, I have no problem with file size. So I guess my
solution is to copy the 8MM tapes to DV tape, and then
save them to the hard drive.
