If I hold down the Shift key will auto run not work?

Inserting the XP disk into the drive and letting the
autoplay run will only bring up a selection screen with
multiple choices for you to make. It will not activate
an .exe which is what is needed to begin the install
process. You can always turn your autoplay off. Good luck.
