Who invented this file system? So called security is getting to the point
where user cannot even access his own files.

Cannot access "documents and settings" from the recovery console as the
administrator. Any idea why?

Hi Dan,

It's not a limitation of the NTFS file system, it's by design of the
Recovery Console. It only allows access to a few certain system folders.

By default the recovery console can only access files under the root
and Windows directory, the folder where recovery console is installed,
and removable media. That has nothing to do with the file system but
is how the recovery console is designed. The lock down is for security
