I have windows XP. On Main page where it lists users one
of the users has 15 unread mail messages. We have gone
to the users email page and she does not have any email
messages how can we clear this message or where is it
getting its info from

Download and install TweakUI:

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP (TweakUI)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

After installing, go to Start > Programs > PowerToys for Windows XP >
TweakUI. Expand "Logon" and uncheck "Show unread mail on Welcome =
screen".

Note: Unread message alerts may indicate you have unread messages not =
only
in Outlook Express, but Hotmail and/or MSN email accounts as =
well.

You are not alone, I have had that problem repeatedly and I suspect is is
something to do the server. I could be wrong. I will be interested to see if
someone can explain this. Mine has always gone away but sometimes not for
weeks.

That happens to me everytime my friend comes over to
visit. He logs on to my account, and uses his HOTMAIL or
logs onto MSN Messenger, with his account, now my profile
has his accounts associated with it.

I DL'ed TweakUI a long time ago, and it works for some
things, but I found, its simpler to use REGEDIT, and just
search for his email address, and delete them from my
registry. There is a section under UNREAD EMAIL, that is
typically where you find the rogue accounts, but HEY!
this is Windows, and you find them peppered all
throughout the registry. Just search RegEdit, and you'll
be fine.

Believe me, I feel your pain. Now you'll be fine.

Chris I am benefitting from your words of wisdom!!! That is what exactly
happened to me. A friend used my account and it associated it with hers for
like three weeks and finally went away on it own. What a headache.
