I use XP Home.
I am looking to allow others to use my logon, but I want
to lock specific folders such as my documents. Is there a
way to lock this or to allow access to it only via
password?

You really should setup an User Account for yourself and =
password-protect the account.
HOW TO: Create and Configure User Accounts in Windows XP

HOW TO: Set the My Documents Folder as "Private" in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=3Dkb;en-us;298399
You Cannot Select the "Make This Folder Private" Option
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=3Dkb;en-us;307286
"The Make this folder private option requires the NTFS file system".

Only by using third party software. You cannot secure folders that you use
in your login against other people using the same login.
