View Full Version : New to XP

I'm planning to move from 98 to XP shortly, and I have some questions:
1. Can my address Book, Favorites, My Documents, etc. be moved intact?
If so, how?
2. Can I copy a folder to a disk, then copy it back to XP after I install?
3. Are there any "Gotchas" I should be aware of?
4. Give me a good reason why I should choose Pro rather than Home. I am
not a business/corporate user, and I am not big on gaming.
I plan on doing a fresh install, rather than an upgrade.
Thanks for any help.

yes, depending on what email client you are using.

Yes

use the Upgrade Advisor before you install. It's not a catch-all and you may
need to go to Manufacturer's web sites to download new drivers. Also make
sure that your BIOS is up to date

Pro has more security options and enables you to join a Domain

The best way, especially if your system has got loads of crud from
installing and uninstalling software.
