I am running XP Home Edition on a Dell Dimension 2330
PC. Attempted to download Japanese IPE for occasional e-
mail (wife to home). Not successfull. Does this edition
of XP support multilingual input? What's my next step?

In Internet Explorer do this:
Tools>Internet Options> Languages> then click Add to make sure your
languages are shown in the language window. Then go to Tools> Internet
Options> Fonts> Select Language Script and then choose the language you
want.
If that does not help, do the following:
Under the Advanced Tab in Start-Control Panel-Regional Languages, make sure
you have the languages selected that you want.
Also try this, you go to CONTROL PANEL
Double clike the REGION AND LANGUAGE ICON
You will see three tags, REGIONAL OPTIONS, LANGUAGES and ADVANCED.
Click the Languages tag and tick the INSTALL FILES FOR
EAST ASIAN LANGUAGES
You will prompt with a memory warning, press OK
If none of that works, go to www.njstar.com and get NJStar Communicator,
which will allow you to read and write in Japanese. Its setup instructions
are much easier than XP's IME.
