Hey all,
I'm desperately looking for help with my audio codecs. I don't get any sound
when playing movies. (only mov-files seem to have sound)
No AC3, no MP3, no nothing. Windows Media Player (or any other player)
doesn't find my codecs anymore, neither does AviCodec. But I'm sure they're
there, I've been using 'em all my life!
I'm using WinXP Home Edition, my soundcard is an SB Live 5.1. If you need to
know more, just ask.
My audio codecs properties tab says:
imaadp32.acm
msadp32.acm
msg711.acm
msgsm32.acm
tssoft32.acm
msg723.acm
Windows Media Audio
Sipro Lab Telecom Audio Codec
Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec
ctmp3.acm
Microsoft PCM-conversieprogramma (that's Dutch for PCM-cenversionprogram,
but I suppose you guessed that
So I suppose the codecs are there, they just don't kick in when they should.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling AC3Filter, but it didn't help. WMP
automatically downloads an MP3 codec and then installs it, but when I open
the movie again, it just does this all over again. Still no sound, however.
Pure MP3-sounds play fine, it's only the streams in a movie that doesn't
play.
Can anyone help me? Please?
I'm getting quite desperate!
