Capture DV save as?

when i capture my DV video using the IEEE card, should i
save it as a uncompressed AVI, or one of the compression
types? IF compressed, which one?..I want to get the best
picture quality , when i used Videowave i got
crap...PLEASE HELP!!!!

Best picture quality is uncompressed which is the DV-AVI format. It's going
to create a large file though... approximately 12gb for every hour of
footage.
