For whatever reason, if I dont make a connection
to the internet, thru my dsl connection, for about
an hour, I just cant connect. If I reboot, I can
then get on and everything is fine. If I close IE
and do other things, then try to connect later, I
cant. Never had this problem with 98se, same NIC
and router, havnt done anything but instal xp pro.
any help?? Thanks much

Hi,

Turn off the power-management for NIC Card.

1. Click Start | Run | Devmgmt.msc
2. Double-click network adapters, select the Network card and choose
properties
3. In the power management tab, disable both the options.

Restart Windows.

Thanks for the advice, but it doesnt have a power
management tab. the only other power management I
have running is for the monitor after 30 minutes
idle. Thanks anyway.
