Digital video camera to laptop through s-video port ? On

Only if the graphics support video in... and most do not. Certainly on a
notebook I would not expect to find this capability.
You can purchase a PCMCIA firewire card for the notebook and import via
firewire.... however since most notebooks have small hard drives, be aware
that 1 hour of camcorder footage is 12gb in DV-AVI format on the hard drive.

It uses an S-Video cable and connects to the S-Video port on the back
(and/or front) of your TV).
Nothing else is required.
If you are in Europe, you may wish to purchase a S-Video to SCART adapter.
SCART sockets are unique to Europe, so disregard if you are in Australasia
or North America.
With the TV turned on, reboot the PC. Once the PC is restarted, right click
the desktop, select Properties. On the Settings tab, click Advanced and
then the Monitor tab.... switch output from Monitor to TV.
Audio is NOT carried by the S-Video cable, as the name suggests, it's video
ONLY.
